  1. Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor

    • Vacancies: 1736 posts
    • Pay: Level 6 (7th CPC)
    • Age Limit: 18-36 years (as of 01.01.2025)
    • Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  2. Station Master

    • Vacancies: 994 posts
    • Pay: Level 6 (7th CPC)

  3. Goods Train Manager

RRB NTPC Selection Process: Your Path to Success

The selection process for the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 is comprehensive, and designed to ensure only the most qualified candidates are chosen. It involves multiple stages, each of which tests different skills and abilities. Selection is strictly merit-based, ensuring a fair opportunity for all candidates.

1. First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Exam Name: 1st Stage CBT
  • No. of Questions: 100 (Objective type with multiple choices)
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Subjects Covered:

  • Mathematics: Topics include Number System, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratios, Percentages, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and more.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: Covers Analogies, Coding-Decoding, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Puzzles, Decision Making, and more.
  • General Awareness: Topics range from current events, sports, history, geography, Indian economy, to government schemes, and technological developments.

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

  • UR: 40%, EWS: 40%, OBC: 30%, SC: 30%, ST: 25%.
    (PwBD candidates may receive a 2% relaxation).

The 1st Stage CBT is screening in nature. Candidates will be shortlisted for the 2nd Stage based on their normalized score in the 1st Stage CBT.


2. Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Exam Name: 2nd Stage CBT
  • No. of Questions: 120 (Objective type with multiple choices)
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Total Marks: 120
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Subjects Covered:

  • Mathematics: Similar to the 1st Stage CBT.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: Similar to the 1st Stage CBT.
  • General Awareness: Topics remain the same as in the 1st Stage CBT.

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

  • UR: 40%, EWS: 40%, OBC: 30%, SC: 30%, ST: 25%.
    (PwBD candidates may receive a 2% relaxation).

The normalized score from the 2nd Stage CBT will be used for shortlisting candidates for document verification or for the Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable).


3. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

(Only for Station Master Posts)

  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery.
  • Shortlisting: Candidates 8 times the number of Station Master vacancies will be shortlisted for CBAT.
  • Important: There will be no negative marking. Vision certificates must be produced during the test.

4. Typing Skill Test (TST)

(For Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist)

  • Typing Speed: 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi.
  • Nature: The test is qualifying in nature, and the scores will not be added to the merit list.

5. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination

  • Candidates will be called for document verification based on their performance in the preceding tests.
  • Medical Fitness: Final selection is subject to passing a medical fitness test, verification of educational qualifications, and character/antecedent checks by the Railway Administration.
