1. Assistant Commandant General Duty (GD)
- Number of Posts: 25
- Gender: Male
- Age Limit: Born between July 1, 1998, and June 30, 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification:
- Hold a degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or Class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. Candidates who have completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
2. Assistant Commandant Technical (Mechanical)
- Number of Posts: Not specified
- Gender: Male
- Age Limit: Born between July 1, 1998, and June 30, 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification:
- Hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks, OR
- An equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or Class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. Candidates who have completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
3. Assistant Commandant Technical (Electrical/ Electronics)
- Number of Posts: Not specified
- Gender: Male
- Age Limit: Born between July 1, 1997, to June 30, 2001 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification:
- Hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks, OR
- An equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or Class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. 4. Assistant Commandant Technical (Law Entry)

- Age Limit: Born between July 1, 1994, to June 30, 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification: A degree in Law from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
Other Criteria of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment
Medical Standards
- Height: Asst Commandant (GD), Technical: Minimum 157 cm. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
- Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10% acceptable.
- Chest: Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cm.
- Eye Sight: (i) Asst Commandant (GD) 6/6 6/9 – Uncorrected without Glass. 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass. (ii) Asst Commandant (Tech) 6/36 6/36 – Uncorrected without Glass. 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass.
